And I'm Phil. Feifei, I found out something really cool last week.
显示翻译
我是Phil。Feifei,我上周发现了一件非常酷的事情。
Really, what's that?
显示翻译
真的,是什么?
I found out that I went to primary school with a famous comedian.

Well, I was aged four in the nursery, when he was eleven and in year six.

嗯,我四岁在幼儿园,他当时十一岁,上六年级。
So, you were like seven years apart? In different buildings? I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that you went to school with him.
显示翻译
所以,你们之间差了七岁?在不同的楼里?我觉得说你们是同学有点牵强。
Ok, well then let's forget my story and we'll just look at that expression 'a bit of a stretch'.
显示翻译
好的,那我们就忘记我的故事,让我们来看看那个表达‘有点牵强’。
Yes, if something is a bit of a stretch, then you're exaggerating – it's not completely untrue, but it's not 100% true either. For example, you say that you wrote a whole presentation, when really you just helped someone else do it. Another example - you might say you can speak German, when really you just know how to say hello in German.
显示翻译
是的,如果某事有点牵强,那么你在夸张——它不是完全不真实的,但也不是百分之百真实的。例如,你说你写了一个完整的演示文稿,但实际上你只是帮别人做了。另一个例子——你可能会说你能说德语,但实际上你只会说‘你好’。
Let's hear some other people using 'a bit of a stretch'.
显示翻译
让我们听听其他人如何使用‘有点牵强’。
Neil said he could be a professional guitarist, but to be honest, I've heard him play, and I'd say it's a bit of a stretch. He told me he was an excellent chef, but I've tasted his food, and I think that's a bit of a stretch. People said that building is one of the most beautiful buildings they've ever seen. I think that's a bit of stretch.

尼尔说他能成为一名职业吉他手,但说实话,我听过他弹奏,我觉得那有点牵强。他告诉我他是一位出色的厨师,但我尝过他的食物,我觉得那有点牵强。人们说那座建筑是他们见过的最美丽的建筑之一。我觉得那有点牵强。
We've been learning the expression 'a bit of a stretch' to mean 'an exaggeration'.
显示翻译
我们一直在学习‘有点牵强’这个表达,意味着‘夸张’。
Yes, we can also use 'stretch' as a verb with the same meaning – 'that's stretching it a bit' means 'I don't think that's completely true'.
显示翻译
是的,我们也可以用‘stretch’作为动词,有同样的意思——‘那有点牵强’意味着‘我不认为那完全是真的’。
OK. We've learned 'a bit of a stretch', join us next time to learn more English phrases and expressions
显示翻译
好的。我们已经学习了‘有点牵强’,下次再和我们一起学习更多的英语短语和表达。
Now, it might be a bit of stretch to say that you'll learn all the English you'll ever need from the next episode, but it'll definitely help.
显示翻译
现在,说你会从下一集中学到所有你需要的英语可能有点牵强,但它肯定会有所帮助。
That's right! See you then.
显示翻译
没错!到时候见。
Bye!
显示翻译
