Ally Hirschlag found out that waking up without an alarm can be very simple if you take care of your sleep needs. Ally used to wake up early for school without the alarm. She wasn't excited to get up, but her body knew when to wake up. She went to bed around 11pm every night. In college, Ally didn't have a regular schedule and needed the alarm more. After college, she got back to a regular sleep pattern and didn't need the alarm again. But when Ally was in her 30s, she started using the alarm again. Now, at over 40, she has trouble sleeping at night and needs coffee in the morning. So, Ally's editor suggested she try to wake up without an alarm. Ally was happy to try this and fix her sleep schedule.
