The biggest Ebola outbreak ever happened in Congo, said the World Health Organization. By July 30, there were 3,605 cases and 1,587 people died. This means 44% of the people with Ebola did not survive. It's caused by a special type of the virus, called Bundibugyo. It started on May 15, 2026, and is worse than the outbreak between 2018 and 2020. No vaccine or medicine for this type is available yet, but scientists are working on it in the UK and Singapore. Ebola has caused many deaths in Africa over 50 years. The WHO said the situation is getting worse with more cases and deaths.
